Jennifer Desmond lived in Oakville Ontario, Canada and is the Founder and President of the non-profit organization Rexdale Rebuild Outreach Programs & Education (RROPE). This organization served women and is an advocate for marginalized populations in the Rexdale community. Jennifer is a nursing professional with over 25 years of service in hospital and community settings. She is resourceful, organized, and a strong patient advocate. Passionate about nursing, Jennifer uses a creative approach to the promotion of health and wellness within the community and in the nursing profession.
Jennifer has worked as a surgical nurse and a visiting community nurse and was a preceptor for many nursing students and new hires throughout much of her nursing career. She has also worked as a cardiac exercise supervisor in the public health sector and in Hepatitis B immunization clinics at schools. Jennifer was awarded the World Organization of Natural Medicine (WOMN) 2009 Merit of Achievement and received a “Leaders in Learning” nursing award & scholarship from Ryerson University in 2011 for Outstanding Community Volunteer Nurse. In addition, Jennifer was the recipient of the Mt. Olive Seventh-Day Adventist Church Community Service Award in 2014 for her organization’s dedication and support in donating to the local food bank. Most recently, Jennifer received the Exemplary Nurse in a Community Setting Award from the Halton Chapter of the Registered Nurses’ Association of Ontario in 2018.
Jennifer has provided leadership as a faith community nurse and a health director to plan holistic programs with her team for her church membership. She has developed and presented wellness presentations to many community organizations, as well as, three- and four-day retreat programs for women to foster body, mind, and soul integration. She holds a solid track record in leadership, public speaking, and program development.
Jennifer now resides in Beaver Bank Nova Scotia and continues to author relevant books to help you grow and overcome adversity in your life.
Jennifer’s first book, Overcoming the P.I.T.S. of Health, has received recognition from the City of Toronto as a great spiritual, mental, and physical health resource for all people.
